Clorox Acquires Black Flag: Oakland-based Clorox Co. said it acquired the Black Flag insecticide line from Britain’s Reckitt & Colman for undisclosed terms. The assets being acquired, including the Roach Motel bait trap and Holiday foggers, will retain their brand names and be added to Clorox’s line of Combat insecticides, Clorox said. Clorox markets a broad line of household products in addition to its namesake bleach. A Clorox spokesman said the purchase will add about $19 million in annual sales and won’t reduce earnings per share. The purchase puts Clorox in closer competition with S.C. Johnson & Son Inc., which makes Raid brand bug killers. No transfer of employees or manufacturing facilities is involved.
