Man Sues Store Over Porn Found in Child’s Video

An Anaheim man sued a Fullerton store Monday alleging that a Superman cartoon video he bought there contained pornography at the end of the tape.

In documents filed in Orange County Superior Court, Phillip Vaichi contends that the video he bought for his then-3-year-old son, Jered, contained 15 minutes of a pornographic movie.

“After the credits finished scrolling up, the video suddenly goes into the middle of the porn flick,” said Frank Barbaro, Vaichi’s attorney. “This is just absolutely slam-dunk, hard-core porn.”

The boy watched the video, titled El Hombre De Acero, for months before the material was discovered, Vaichi alleges.

Barbaro said he believes the video processor made copies of the cartoon over unsold pornographic videos.

Vaichi is suing the owner of the One Dollar Store in Fullerton where he bought the video and the videotape distributor, manufacturer and producer. Those companies are AIC Video Tape, Loxs and Abranjack International Co.

“God knows how many are out there,” Barbaro said. “People reprocess videotapes all the time.”
