COLLEGE FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : USC : Otton-Wachholtz Rotation Will Continue

John Robinson said that his Brad Otton-Kyle Wachholtz quarterback rotation will continue Saturday against Houston at the Coliseum.
Otton will play the first and third quarters and Wachholtz the second and fourth, as was the case in the 45-7 opening-game victory over San Jose State.
Robinson also said he hadn’t decided on a tailback starter between Leonard Green--last week’s starter--Shawn Walters or Delon Washington.
“We’ll play all three and try to get them an equal number of carries,” he said.

Scott Fields finally seems to be playing the right position.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound senior from Bishop Amat came to USC as a running back, but started out under Larry Smith as a strong safety. When Robinson took over in 1993, Fields became a tailback.
He was switched to safety last season, and to linebacker last spring. And last Saturday, in the opener against San Jose State, Robinson said Fields was a defensive gem at linebacker with five tackles, second only to cornerback Quincy Harrison, who had six.
“Fields really stood out,” Robinson said. “He’s finally in the right position.”

Robinson has become an author. His book, “Coach to Coach, Business Lessons from the Locker Room,” written with writer Ann Coyle, is geared to business executives and football fans and will be published this fall.
