There’s Money for Satellites but Not Health

Tucked away in The Times’ Sept. 16 Business section to avoid the shadows on A1 of the story on the massive layoffs in Los Angeles County’s public health system is “TRW Wins $399-Million NASA Satellite Contract.”

What in the hell is wrong with this country that it cannot afford to keep 6,700 health workers on payroll while it finds millions to provide jobs for 375 toy makers?
