* Your editorial, “Another Reminder of UC’s Greatness” (Sept. 14), quite accurately praises the high quality of graduate training throughout the University of California. However your list of UCLA graduate programs ranked in the top five by the National Research Council made no mention of sociology. The UCLA Department of Sociology’s national ranking as the fifth best graduate program reflects the substantial commitment UCLA administration, faculty and staff invested in improving educational quality in the face of significant decreases in state funding.
