Disneyland Workers to Vote on Contract: Votes are scheduled to be counted Friday from mail-in balloting on a new three-year labor agreement between Walt Disney Co. and about 3,000 Disneyland workers. The agreement with five of the park’s labor unions calls for a 3% wage hike each year, with an hourly premium for certain custodial jobs. The unions were able to fend off Disney’s move to eliminate seniority as a factor in promotion, but some workers have complained that the agreement will lead to reductions in the number of senior workers, called “leads,” who receive higher pay. The workers covered under the agreement represent about a third of the park’s winter work force and they are generally now paid between $7 and $12 an hour. The tentative agreement was forged in a marathon negotiating session hours after the old agreement expired Sept. 15.
