PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : AFC : Boselli Back, but Now Bouwens Is Out
Jacksonville Jaguar left guard Shawn Bouwens will be sidelined for four to six weeks. Bouwens, one of only two regulars on the line who has started for another NFL team, tore the medial collateral ligament in his right knee early in the fourth quarter of Sunday night’s 24-14 loss to Green Bay.
The game marked the pro debut of offensive lineman Tony Boselli, the No. 2 overall draft pick from USC who missed the entire preseason and first three regular season games after sustaining cartilage damage in his left knee in the early days of training camp.
Boselli didn’t start, but moved into the lineup on the Jaguars’ first series of the second quarter in place of Jeff Novak. Novak, however, found himself back on the field when Bouwens went down while pass blocking.
