Sutton Joins Irvine Co. Board

* Thomas C. Sutton has been elected to the board of directors of the Irvine Co., a privately held real estate investment firm. He is chairman and chief executive of Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Co. in Newport Beach.

* Larry Porricelli has been named general manager of the Edwards 21 Cinemas in Irvine, which is scheduled to open in mid-November. He had been district supervisor and manager of Edwards Westpark Cinemas. James Woodin, who had been manager of Edwards Big Newport Cinema, was appointed director of sales and operations for Edwards IMAX and IMAX 3D. The IMAX, also in Irvine, is expected to open in late December.

* Kay Matherly, Frederick T. Rogers and Carol J. Geffner have joined the executive board of the Orange County Venture Network, a nonprofit organization. Matherly is a vice president with Wells Fargo Bank and a member of the American Electronics Assn. Rogers is founder and president of Select University Technologies in Newport Beach. Geffner is head of a management consulting firm, the Geffner Group.
