Forum to Examine Medicare, Medi-Cal

Preserving Medicare and taking care of America’s aging population will be some of the topics discussed at a White House Post Conference on Friday in Oxnard.
The conference, “Ensuring Health Care for the 21st Century: Medicare and Medi-Cal,” will feature Leon Kaplan, the presidential delegate to the White House Conference on Aging, and several national and local health officials.
The conference will take place at St. John’s Regional Medical Center from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Admission is $10, which includes lunch and program materials.
Colleen L. House, executive director of the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging, at 9:45 a.m. will deliver the keynote address, “Medicare and Medi-Cal--A View of Ventura County.”
Official Ventura County White House delegates and health experts will discuss resolutions adopted at the White House Conference on Aging held in Washington in May.
