La Verne Damien Runs Over El Dorado, 31-14

Running back Chris Colvin rushed for 120 yards and scored two second-quarter touchdowns to lead La Verne Damien to a 31-14 victory over El Dorado Thursday night at Valencia High.

On the first play of the second quarter, Colvin ran 37 yards for his first touchdown, giving Damien a 10-0 lead. With 1 minute 37 seconds remaining in the first half, Colvin scored on a two-yard run, set up by a fumble recovery by Spartan defensive tackle Dominic Spadaro at the El Dorado 24-yard line.

After a 29-yard punt return by Colvin to the Golden Hawk 43, Damien drove 57 yards, scoring on a 24-yard pass from Chris Resendez to Damian Allen to make it 24-0 with 51 seconds remaining in the third quarter.

El Dorado (2-2) scored its first touchdown when quarterback Mike Marzicola completed a 26-yard touchdown pass to Kevin Badii with just more than nine minutes remaining in the game. Damien then scored again on a 43-yard run by Myron Mathews.

Golden Hawk linebacker Matt McRae recovered a fumble by Brad Leon at the Damien two-yard line. Three plays later, Marzicola scored on a two-yard run with 2:16 left.
