Johnson Stifled, but USC Tops Cal : College football: Receiver doesn’t hit 100-yard mark, but Trojans stay undefeated with 26-16 victory.

Kyle Wachholtz threw two touchdown passes and LaVale Woods ran for two scores as fifth-ranked USC defeated California, 26-16, Saturday, but Trojan receiver Keyshawn Johnson had his record streak of 100-yard games broken.

Johnson, who had at least 100 yards in catches in an NCAA-record 12 consecutive games, was held to five receptions for 57 yards, his lowest output since the opening game of last season.

Wachholtz had scoring passes of 19 yards to John Allred and 21 yards to Tyler Cashman and Woods ran for touchdowns of four and 19 yards as the Trojans (5-0, 3-0 Pacific 10 Conference) overcame 140 yards in penalties.

Cal (1-4, 0-2) got a 35-yard scoring pass from Pat Barnes to Iheanyi Uwaezuoke, a 55-yard punt return for a touchdown by Na’il Benjamin and a 39-yard field goal by Ryan Longwell.

The Trojans got 151 yards in 30 carries from Delon Washington--his second game in a row of more than 100 yards rushing.

Wachholtz, who played the second and fourth quarters under USC’s two-quarterback rotation, completed seven of 12 passes for 66 yards. Starter Brad Otton was 14 of 21 for 160 yards.

The Trojans were without suspended players Shawn Walters, Israel Ifeanyi and Errick Herrin for the second week in a row. Investigators are looking into whether the three took money and gifts from an agent.
