New Chief Operating Officer Comes Aboard at Merisel

Merisel Inc. has appointed Ronald A. Rittenmeyer president and chief operating officer.

The newly created position includes responsibility for U.S. operations, the corporate staff functions of information systems and logistics, Merisel’s franchise and aggregation business, and the company’s Latin American, Mexican and Australian subsidiaries.

Rittenmeyer had been chief operating officer for Burlington Northern Railroad.

Merisel, based in El Segundo, is a wholesale distributor of microcomputer hardware and software products.

Bergen Brunswig Corp. has promoted Linda Burkett to executive vice president and chief information officer.

Burkett was previously vice president of information resources support services at the Orange-based pharmaceuticals distributor.

Dick Kreidel has been named president and chief operating officer of Adams Rite Manufacturing Co., based in City of Industry.

Kreidel, who was vice president of business development for the hardware manufacturing company, succeeds Peter Adams, who stepped down to assume a more advisory role to the firm built by his family.

Steven Burge has been named a managing director and head of the Los Angeles office of Wells Fargo Equity Capital Inc., a new subsidiary of Wells Fargo & Co.

Burge most recently was managing general partner of Wedbush Capital Partners in Los Angeles.
