Volkswagen to Build 2nd Plant in Brazil: The $250-million engine factory will be built in Sao Carlos in southeastern Brazil, the German auto maker said. Volkswagen is already constructing a $250-million plant to make trucks and buses in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Volkswagen said the new 323,0000-square-foot engine plant will be the most modern in Latin America and that it will double Volkswagen’s production in Brazil, the company’s second-largest market after Germany.
