Varco International Inc.: The Orange manufacturer of drilling equipment for oil and gas wells said net income for the third quarter totaled $3.7 million, or 12 cents a share, 23% higher than the $3 million, or 9 cents a share, posted for the corresponding period last year. Revenue showed a 26% gain, to $68.1 million from $54.2 million. Net income for the first nine months was $12 million, or 38 cents a share, up 45% from the year-earlier figure of $8.3 million, or 25 cents a share. Revenue rose 24% to $202.5 million from $163.1 million.
