Thousands of Blooms at East West Orchid Show

The ninth annual East West Orchid Show will open Friday and run through the weekend at the New Otani Hotel & Garden, 120 S. Los Angeles St., in the Little Tokyo district of downtown Los Angeles. Orchid lovers will delight in the thousands of breathtaking blooms on display at free and open-to-the-public show, one of the top five shows of its kind in the country. This year’s show, with the theme “The Mystery and Romance of Orchids,” will feature more than 40 elaborate displays created by orchid societies and exhibitors from around the world,

There also will be free lectures and seminars and more than 25 vendors will offer richly colored and lavishly scented orchids for sale at near-wholesale prices. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call (213) 485-1177.
