From Times Wire Reports

About 650 Palestinians, half of them children, were stranded on a ship off Cyprus after Libya deported them and Syria refused to take them. Cypriot authorities allowed the ferry, the Cyprus-flagged Countess M, to anchor off Larnaca for food and fuel, police said. But only a pregnant woman in labor and her family were allowed off. Libya ordered 30,000 Palestinians deported beginning in August to dramatize Libyan leader Col. Moammar Kadafi’s opposition to peace accords between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization.
