TJ Cinnamons: Four of the New Jersey franchiser’s bakery stores in Orange County closed their doors recently after a partnership that owns them failed to craft a reorganization plan in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Santa Ana. Canyon Bakeries Ltd. had operated two of the stores in Mission Viejo as well as outlets in Irvine and Tustin, said Alan Gottlich, a spokesman for TJ Cinnamons Inc. of Secaucus, N.J.

The limited partnership that held the TJ Cinnamons franchise for Orange County filed for protection in bankruptcy court in the summer, Gottlich said. But the Chapter 11 reorganization bid failed and the remaining assets now are being sold through bankruptcy court. TJ Cinnamons “is actively looking to replace the stores that closed in Orange County,” Gottlich said. “But at this point in time, we don’t have a buyer or a replacement for those units.”
