Tropical Storm Tanya, the 19th of the second-busiest hurricane season on record, emerged Friday in the mid-Atlantic, the National Hurricane Center said. Tanya was about 575 miles southeast of Bermuda on Friday afternoon. If the storm remains on its current course, it would not threaten land, forecasters said.
