Amplicon Inc.: The Santa Ana company, which leases high-tech equipment, said profit for the first fiscal quarter totaled $2.7 million, or 45 cents a share, 8% higher than the $2.5 million, or 43 cents a share, for the year-earlier period. Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 increased 26% to $56.4 million from $44.7 million.
