War Crimes Panel Cites Serbs
The U.N. War Crimes Tribunal said Tuesday that it has evidence of Bosnian Serb atrocities committed after the fall of the Muslim enclave of Srebrenica in July and that it expects to issue indictments before the end of the year.
Thousands of Muslim men are missing and feared dead since the U.N. “safe area” was overrun by Bosnian Serb forces July 11.
Media reports have alleged that they were butchered.
Dutch Defense Minister Joris Voorhoeve said Monday that there is strong evidence of mass executions and that he fears thousands were slaughtered.
About 40,000 Muslims were packed into the enclave in eastern Bosnia-Herzegovina, which was thinly protected by 350 Dutch peacekeepers.
