End the Unnatural Quest to Destroy

Share

* When are we going to stop this greedy quest to destroy what remaining hills and natural resources and vistas we have left here in Southern Orange County?

It is a crime to see such wanton disregard of Mother Nature and her environment. She is being further trampled upon by an additional housing project (Ladera) to consist of 8,100 homes.

Behind this massive development is the Santa Margarita Co., which in conjunction with its new merger partner makes it one of the largest real estate conglomerates in the state.

The county supervisors who have approved all this are the same supervisors who got us into bankruptcy.

We are becoming a community of robots. Cars stop and start on freeways of which we will never have enough; ugly overpasses and utility towers mar any views of what scenery we have left.

Not to mention the detriment to our air, climate and health; and what about our water supply?

We as responsible citizens must become more aware of what is happening to our surroundings, our ecosystem, our way of life. Southern Orange County and California in general have been so blessed by nature.

We must respect and protect what legacy remains.
