Schools : Education news : ANAHEIM : Career Day Speakers Include Janet Evans

Swimmer Janet Evans, an Olympic gold medalist, will be among the speakers today at the annual career day at Esperanza High School in Anaheim.

Appearing with Evans will be her father, Paul Evans, who will discuss careers in veterinary medicine.

Also on the agenda are Lance Parrish, a catcher for the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team and a former California Angel; and screenwriter Elisa Bell, a 1983 Esperanza graduate who will discuss careers in the film industry.

More than 70 professionals representing fields including law enforcement, the airline industry, the armed forces, education, journalism and business will speak.
