THOUSAND OAKS : Civic Arts Plaza Wins Design Award

The Civic Arts Plaza’s design, technology and function have earned the city of Thousand Oaks an outstanding achievement award from a real estate and development group.

The Valley Development Forum presented the award to City Councilwoman Judy Lazar at a breakfast Wednesday morning.

The 200-member nonprofit group, based in the San Fernando Valley, chose the building as one of four outstanding projects built in the Greater Los Angeles Area in the last year.

Other projects receiving the award included the Disney Corp. for its Development Feature Animation Building in Burbank, the city of Los Angeles for the new Lake Balboa Recreation Area and Reclamation Plant, and the developers of the Encino Marketplace.

Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan was the keynote speaker.
