Sunland : Police Identify Man Who Was Fatally Shot
Los Angeles police on Wednesday identified a man who was gunned down outside of a Sunland market as Mark Daniel Lopez.
Lopez, 19, of Tujunga was standing on a corner at Summit Rose Street and Mount Gleason Avenue shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday when he was shot to death.
LAPD Detective Frank Bishop said his investigators are searching for two or more men who argued with Lopez and then shot him several times.
Following the slaying, the gunmen ran to their car parked down the street, police said.
Bishop said the killing appears to be gang-related.
So far this year, gang violence is blamed for 18 of the 27 homicides committed in the Foothill Division.
