Smoking Out Cigar-Friendly Places : Where to find special dinners, ‘Monday Night Football’ parties, even women’s nights.

Nightclubs such as the Shark Club in Costa Mesa and Roxbury South in Santa Ana are havens for young adult cigar smokers. Here’s a sampling of other local establishments that are cigar friendly and attract several generations of cigar aficionados:

* Antoine, Sutton Place Hotel, 4500 MacArthur Blvd., Newport Beach, (714) 476-2001. On Nov. 20 will offer the Davidoff cigar dinner, a five-course gourmet meal with Rhone wines of Guigal, cognacs of Pierre Ferrand and cigars ($125).

* Antonello Ristorante, 1611 W. Sunflower Ave., Santa Ana, (714) 751-7153. Offers “Monday Night Football” smoker dinners in its private dining room (price varies with menu).

* The Cellar, 305 N. Harbor, Fullerton, (714) 525-5682. Has cigar-smoker dinners on nights when the restaurant is closed to the public, with the next one scheduled for January ($50 to $60, depending on menu).

* El Torito Grill, Fashion Island Newport Beach, (714) 640-2875. Offers Monday night “XXL” Value Package with Red Hook ale or Oregon Honey micro-brew with a cigar, through Dec. 18 ($10).

* Habana Restaurant and Bar, at the Lab, 2930 Bristol St., Costa Mesa, (714) 556-0176. Will host a cigar dinner Wednesday ($50) that includes a five-course dinner, with wines, Port, champagne and Padron cigars.

* Morton’s, 1661 Sunflower Ave., Santa Ana, (714) 444-4834. Has a humidor and allows cigar smoking in the bar. In February, all 32 Morton’s in the United States will have a women’s smoker on the same night.

* Mr. Stox, 1105 E. Katella Ave., Anaheim, (714) 634-2994. Will have a Partagas cigar and vintage Port tasting on Nov. 21 ($90).

* Newport Landing, 503 E. Edgewater, Balboa, (714) 675-2373. Frequently holds cigar smokers, with the next one scheduled for the Wednesday night after the Super Bowl ($85). Cigars are always welcome in the well-ventilated bar with its view of the harbor.

* Prego, 18420 Von Karman Ave., Irvine, (714) 553-1333. Regularly offers smokers, with the next one scheduled for early 1996. The patio is always open for cigar smokers.

* Romeo et Juliette, 1198 Pacific Coast Highway, Seal Beach, (310) 430-2331. The cigar store, coffeehouse and bakery will offer a cigar dinner ($55) Tuesday and a free cigar tasting of Macanudos and Ramon Allones hosted by General Cigars on Nov. 18.

* Ritz-Carlton, 33533 Ritz-Carlton Drive, Dana Point, (714) 240-2000. The Library, open from 7 p.m. until midnight every night, offers cocktails, cognacs, champagne and cigars for individual or private parties.

* Tutto Mare, Fashion Island Newport Beach, (714) 640-6333. Occasionally offers fine dining, music, Cognac and cigar sampling from Southern Wine and Spirits and Newport Tobacco. The patio is always open for cigar smokers.

* Windows, 2241 W. Coast Highway, Newport Beach, (714) 722-1400. Offers Friday-night smokers on the patio with cigars and liqueurs sold a la carte.
