ANAHEIM : Industrial Complex Set to Launch
- Share via
Construction will begin this month on a 1.2-million-square-foot industrial complex, the North County Distribution Center, in north Anaheim.
The developer, Security Capital Investment Trust, is planning two buildings on a 53-acre site at 400 E. Orangethorpe Ave. between Lemon Street and Raymond Avenue.
SCI, based in Denver, is a real estate investment trust that has industrial properties in operation or in development in 35 cities.
The Anaheim project’s major tenant will be La Mirada-based RSI Home Products Inc., which plans to consolidate other Orange County operations there with 350 employees. RSI, a manufacturer of cabinets and countertops, will occupy about 675,000 square feet in the larger building.
City officials are crediting a combined effort of the Community Development and Public Utilities departments with attracting the SCI project.
The partnership provides companies with economic and business support programs, including water and electric utility services and an accelerated permit process.
Anaheim Mayor Tom Daly and executives from SCI and RSI Home Products will make presentations at a groundbreaking ceremony for the project Tuesday.
