Con-Way Trucking Company Selects President

* Charles E. Boone has been named president of Con-Way Western Express in Buena Park, a regional trucking company. He succeeds George C. Reid, who left the company. Boone had been vice president of sales for Con-Way Southern Express in Fort Worth. In addition, James P. Gray has joined the company as executive vice president. Gray had been vice president of national sales for Con-Way Transportation Services, the parent company.

* Clair W. Burgener has joined the board of directors of First American Trust Co. in Newport Beach. Burgener is a former member of Congress from San Diego. He is currently chairman of the University of California Board of Regents.

* Joel Greer has been appointed director of architecture for Stoutenborough Inc. in Irvine. He was formerly with HKS Architects in Dallas and LPA and Nadel in Orange County.

* Linda Heide has been appointed regional vice president for Party-Lite Gifts Inc., a marketer of candles and candle accessories. She is a resident of Orange.

* Andres Arteta has been named senior business systems analyst at Subscriber Computing Inc. in Laguna Hills. Before joining the company, he was a document management systems analyst for Xerox Corp. in the City of Industry.

* John D. Broderick has been named executive vice president and director of retail banking for American Savings Bank in Irvine. In addition, Brad Henske has been appointed executive vice president and chief financial officer. Both Broderick and Henske will begin Jan. 3. Broderick was previously chairman and chief executive for ITT Residential Capital Corp. in San Francisco, a wholly owned subsidiary of ITT Corp. in New York. Henske was formerly a partner with Bain & Co., Chicago and Boston, where he had worked since 1988. His primary focus was in the areas of financial services, concentrating on financial management and consumer marketing.

* Richard N. Campbell has been named vice president of finance and administration for Simulation Sciences Inc., a Brea supplier of software and services. Prior to joining the company last year, Campbell was senior vice president of Southwest Diversified, a real estate development company in Irvine.

* Larry Webb has been installed as president of the Building Industry Assn., Orange County chapter. He is president of John Laing Homes. Webb succeeds 1994-95 president Monica Florian of the Irvine Co.
