The House on Monday passed a bill to let candidates for federal office file campaign finance reports with the Federal Election Commission by computer rather than on paper.

The legislation, which now goes to the Senate, also waives the need to file duplicate FEC reports with the state when the state has electronic access to the reports. And House candidates would be able to file reports directly to the FEC instead of with the House clerk.
