YORBA LINDA : Affordable Housing for Seniors in the Works
- Share via
Work will begin early next year on the city’s first affordable-housing project for senior citizens.
The City Council approved American Housing Producers’ proposal to build a 125-unit apartment complex at Yorba Linda Boulevard and Stonehaven Drive.
A spokesman for the Irvine-based company said Wednesday that American Housing expects to begin construction in March and to begin renting units as early as December, 1996.
One-bedroom apartments in the complex will range from $410 to $630 a month and will be available to those 58 or older.
“This is one of the rare projects where neighbors and developers are united,” Councilman Mark Schwing said, adding that he has heard only one complaint about the proposal.
