San Gabriel Valley : MEDICAL AFFILIATION
After 16 months of meetings and paperwork, the presidents of two large medical centers signed an affiliation agreement Tuesday that will expand health care services for three San Gabriel Valley hospitals.
Foothill Presbyterian Hospital in Glendora is linking medical and financial resources with Citrus Valley Health Partners, a group that includes Inter-Community Medical Center in Covina and Queen of the Valley Hospital in West Covina, said Peter E. Makowski, president of Citrus Valley Health Partners.
No job loss is expected as a result of the affiliation, and officials from both hospitals said they expect their combined buying power to cut costs.
