SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO : Cable Firm Donates $24,500 to District
The Capistrano Unified School District has received a $24,500 donation from Cox Communications to help ease the district’s financial burden in the wake of the Orange County bankruptcy.
The money will be divided evenly among the 26 elementary schools in the district for buying supplies.
“We wanted to give something back to the community,” said Carol Starcevic, manager of public affairs for Cox Communications.
“We just know how much the schools need the funds.”
The company, which offers cable-TV service in parts of Orange County, has also given money to the Saddleback Valley, Irvine and Laguna Beach school districts, Starcevic said.
