Children’s Welfare

* It is truly a sad commentary that we must ask our politicians to “Spare the Children” (editorial, Nov. 17). Much legislation requires an environmental impact report before enactment. I propose a child impact report that will delineate the negative effects of a law on our children before enactment.

We find it easy to protect a rare plant or animal. Why can’t we mandate our politicians to protect our most precious resource--our children?
