ST. MARYS, Ga. —
A small plane crashed into the St. Marys River, and the bodies of a man and a woman were found in the water a few hours later, authorities said.
It was not immediately known if the two unidentified people had been aboard the plane.
The plane reported difficulties to a control tower in Jacksonville, Fla., before the Saturday night crash, said Kathleen Bergen, a spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration in Atlanta.
