Tests Sunday in Anaheim Seek Marrow Donors

To find matching marrow donors for his daughter and other cancer patients, Angel batting coach Rod Carew is asking healthy adults ages 18 to 55 to be tested as possible donors Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. at the Elsa Farmer Market in Anaheim.

Carew’s daughter Michelle, who is being treated for acute nonlymphocytic leukemia at Children’s Hospital of Orange County, will need a marrow transplant from an unrelated person.

Other Angels scheduled to attend the donor drive include Rex Hudler, Mark Langston, Garret Anderson and Greg Myers. For more information, call (800) 627-7692.

Dodger bullpen coach Mark Cresse will conduct a baseball clinic to benefit Marina High’s baseball program from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

The clinic, which will include Dodger first baseman Eric Karros and Chicago Cub coach Tony Muser, will be held at the Lakewood Batting Cages, 3901 Paramount Blvd., in Lakewood.
