Irvine-Based General Automation Names Senior VP
Jane Christie has been appointed to the newly created position of senior vice president at General Automation Inc., an Irvine computer company. As a corporate officer, she will head up sales, marketing and service. Christie had been vice president of customer services before her new appointment.

Wayne L. Sawyer has joined Insureco Agency & Insurance Services Inc. in Orange as senior vice president for its automobile and mortgage protection insurance servicing product lines. Sawyer had been with American Security Group in Atlanta for 25 years, most recently as executive vice president.

Kim Alan Johnson has been named vice president of the leisure division at Avenida Travel in Irvine. He joined the company in 1994 when his agency, Cruise Navigators, merged with Avenida. Before that, Johnson was director of reservations for Princess Cruises in Los Angeles.

Melanie G. Stenson has been appointed senior vice president of information technology and operations management for RNG Mortgage Service in Santa Ana. She was formerly vice president of secondary marketing. Before joining RNG in 1992, Stenson was secondary marketing manager at California Mortgage Service.

Jeannine Flynn has joined Santa Ana-based GT Bicycles Inc. in the new position of director of reporting, responsible for overseeing the production of annual reports. Flynn was previously a senior manager at the accounting firm of KPMG Peat Marwick.

Richard A. Miller has joined the planned giving advisory panel of Western Medical Center. Miller is president and founder of Transtar Commercial Real Estate Services.

Bradley S. Smith has joined Nelson Communications Group in Irvine as a writer and media relations consultant. He formerly managed public information programs for the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office, the Family Support Bureau and the District Attorney’s Courageous Citizen’s Awards.

Rhea Leigh Graf has joined Scott, Bankhead & Co., a Newport Beach accounting firm, where she will be responsible for write-up and compilation services. She had been an accounting service manager with Grant Thornton in Irvine.

Lyann Courant Collins has joined Computer Lab International in Placentia as director of product marketing. She was previously with Micro Integration, California Software Products and Laguna Labs.

Mark Lyons has been named regional sales manager for Strategic Mortgage Services in Costa Mesa. He will cover the Western, Southwestern and Northwestern states. He was formerly a national accounts director for Lenders Service Inc.

Connie Ryan has joined Mailing & Marketing Inc., an Orange direct mail advertising company, as an account coordinator. For the past two years, she worked for the Marine Corps at the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station, assisting in the organization of the annual air show.
