Sears Exec Named Kmart’s Chief Merchandiser: The struggling discount retailer named Warren Flick president and general merchandise manager of domestic Kmart stores and an executive vice president of the chain. Flick, 51, is chairman and chief executive of the Mexico division of Sears, Roebuck & Co. He previously played a role in Sears’ turnaround while in charge of footwear and men’s, children’s and home fashions. Flick replaces Charles Chinni, who resigned in October after eight months on the job. Chinni, a former Macy’s executive, had been brought in by Joseph Antonini, during his final months running Kmart. Flick will have the additional title of president of domestic Kmarts, which will place him a notch above the other vice presidents in the executive suite.
