WORLD IN BRIEF : INDONESIA : Violence Flares Over Embassy Break-In

Violence flared in Jakarta on the 20th anniversary of the Indonesian invasion of East Timor when anti-Indonesian Timorese and pro-government counterdemonstrators invaded the Dutch Embassy. Witnesses said pro-Indonesian protesters briefly entered the embassy after verbally abusing 58 East Timorese and their sympathizers holed up there since early morning. The counterdemonstrators invaded the embassy shortly after another group of East Timorese forced its way into the Russian Embassy.
