$20-Million Gift for School

DURHAM, N.C. —
Duke University is getting $20 million for its School of the Environment from an alumnus and trustee whose company is a leading maker of scientific and medical equipment. The donation from the Boston family of Peter M. Nicholas is the largest to Duke since tobacco magnate James B. Duke gave $40 million in 1924 to found the university, the school said Thursday.
