Kofax to Buy East Coast Firm’s Assets

Kofax Image Products said Monday it has agreed to acquire the assets of LaserData Inc., a Massachusetts software provider.

The acquisition, which would be the first in the software company’s 10-year history, should be completed early next year, Irvine-based Kofax said. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

LaserData, founded in 1982, supplies storage software and document management tools for document imaging solutions. The company, based in Tyngsboro, Mass., has more than 2,000 systems installed worldwide.
