TWA Files Lawsuit Against Icahn: The action filed in St. Louis Circuit Court seeks to stop the carrier’s former owner from selling TWA tickets at discounts of up to 25%. To repay a $190-million loan, TWA gave Icahn rights to sell TWA tickets with a face value of $610 million. To keep Icahn’s ticket sales from competing directly with its own sales to the public, the airline says, Icahn agreed to sell his tickets only to corporations or businesses that put together blocks of seats for international travelers. The company claims that Icahn sold about $11.1 million worth of tickets from Aug. 1 through Nov. 30. Icahn denied any wrongdoing and accused the airline of trying to disrupt his travel agency business.
