Searchers found the wreckage of a Russian airliner that disappeared Thursday in the Far East with 97 people aboard, the Itar-Tass news agency reported. There was no sign of survivors. The crash site was 75 miles northeast of Sukpai along the plane’s flight route toward the city of Khabarovsk, Lt. Col. Artur Afanasiyev of the search headquarters told the news agency. The Russian-built TU-154 was broken in two, and pieces were strewn around the site. No passengers or crew members were found alive, the official said. An intensive hunt involving dozens of aircraft had been conducted since the plane went off radar screens while traveling in darkness from Sakhalin Island.
