Microsemi Corp.: The Santa Ana semiconductor company recorded a profit of $6.1 million, or 74 cents a share, for the fiscal year ended Oct. 1, compared with a net loss of $2.1 million, or 28 cents a share, for the previous year, which included an after-tax write-down of $6 million related to military inventory and certain other assets. Sales were up 12% to $133.9 million from $119.2 million.

Fourth-quarter net earnings totaled $2 million, or 24 cents a share, contrasted with a net loss of $4.5 million, or 60 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue rose 20% to $37.6 million from $31.3 million.
