O.J. Simpson showed up Thursday for the deposition of his former girlfriend Paula Barbieri, which stems from a wrongful-death lawsuit filed by the father and sister of murder victim Ronald Lyle Goldman.

Simpson strolled through a parking lot at the building where lawyer Daniel Petrocelli’s office is located, smiled and stayed close to his bodyguards. Barbieri arrived separately a couple of minutes later.

She was questioned throughout the day at the West Los Angeles office of Petrocelli, who represents Fred and Kim Goldman.

Still to be deposed are Al Cowlings and Robert Kardashian, two longtime Simpson friends.

The family of the former football player’s ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson also has filed a wrongful-death suit against him.

Brown and Goldman were stabbed to death June 12, 1994. Simpson, 48, was acquitted in October of the murders.

Fred Goldman also came to Thursday’s deposition, but left early. He told reporters he was not at liberty to discuss what was occurring.

“But I can say that we’re very happy with the way things are going,” he said.

In legal papers filed in Santa Monica Superior Court, Petrocelli said Simpson deemed Barbieri a “material witness” so she could visit him while he was in jail.

Barbieri did not testify at the criminal trial. She told ABC News a few weeks after the verdict was rendered that she had severed her relationship with Simpson, although she indicated they were still friends.
