Share

A bandit wearing a black ski mask and brandishing a semiautomatic handgun robbed a Westlake bank Thursday morning, officials said.

The robbery occurred about 11 a.m. at the Coast Federal Bank on Agoura Road, according to Gary Auer of the FBI. The robber entered the bank, produced a 9 millimeter handgun and ordered a customer to the floor before jumping over the counter and robbing two tellers, Auer said.

The gunman escaped on foot and no injuries were reported. Auer said the FBI is looking for a white man in his mid-20s who stands 6 feet tall and weighs 165 pounds.

Auer said he believes the same bandit robbed the Wells Fargo Bank on Lindero Canyon Road on Nov. 21.

The heist Thursday was the 46th bank robbery in Ventura County this year, Auer said.
