Mattel Inc.’s experience with its popular Teacher Barbie gives new meaning to the phrase “back to basics.”
Parents have been upset to find that Teacher Barbie appears to have nothing on beneath her short skirt. It seems the doll’s flesh-colored underwear is molded onto her plastic body, making it appear that Teacher Barbie is, well, not up to school dress code.
Mattel has responded by adding cloth panties to the wardrobe of new Teacher Barbie dolls.
