Lesson to Bank On

We spent five weeks traveling in England, Denmark, Sweden and Norway and learned that such a trip can be taken with only a Cirrus ATM card, Visa and MasterCard and a telephone credit card. Banks in these countries honored the Cirrus logo, even when they didn’t display it. MasterCard and Visa were universally accepted, but American Express was not always accepted.

I took along all the telephone numbers to call in case of a lost card and that paid off when we misplaced a card in Copenhagen. AT&T; supplied me with a card listing access codes for each country, which was very convenient.
