Three D Departments’ Quarterly Losses Soar

COSTA MESA — Three D Departments Inc., which operates retail bed and bath specialty stores, lost $347,183, or 14 cents a share, for the first fiscal quarter, compared with a net loss of $134,068, or 5 cents a share, for the same period last year. Sales for the quarter ended Oct. 28 were up 3% to $12.1 million from $11.7 million. The company attributed the sales increase to new store openings and store expansions.
