Citicorp Considers Moving From New York: The giant banking company whose name and office buildings are synonymous with New York, is seriously thinking about moving its corporate headquarters and top executives to another city. John S. Reed, chairman of Citicorp, the parent company of Citibank, the nation’s biggest bank, says he is worried that his executives become too narrow-minded and insular in a place such as New York, where the bank began 183 years ago. He believes top execs might be more clear-headed and make better decisions in a place that is less dominated by major divisions of the bank’s operations and the high-finance atmosphere of New York, a spokesman said. Reed hopes to make a decision within a few months.
