Praxair to Sell CBI Units: Danbury, Conn.-based Praxair Inc. said it will sell CBI Industries Inc.’s oil terminal and construction-contracting businesses after it completes its $2.2-billion acquisition of CBI. The businesses generated slightly more than half of CBI’s $1.89 billion of revenue in 1994. Praxair spokesman Nigel Muir said Praxair has not estimated how much the businesses might fetch. A CBI annual report shows that in 1994 the contracting business had revenue of $831.4 million, the oil terminal business $152.2 million. CBI’s industrial gases business had revenue of $907.3 million that year. The companies’ combined revenue in 1994 was $4.59 billion. On New York Stock Exchange trading, Praxair shares were up 87.5 cents at $32.75 and shares of CBI were down 12.5 cents at $32.75.
