National Education Corp. Sells 16 Vocational Schools
National Education Corp. said Tuesday that it is selling 16 of its vocational schools to Santa Ana-based Corinthian Schools Inc. for about $5 million.
The schools, which train students to become medical, dental and optical assistants, are in Orange, Los Angeles, Rosemead, San Bernardino and Winnetka, as well as several other locations in California and the nation.
The sale is expected to be completed by Friday, the two companies said.
Irvine-based National Education plans to concentrate on its publishing businesses as well as its multimedia and technology training operations, said Keith Ogata, chief financial officer.
